(3rd Sept) Orchard, The Dempsey Brasserie + Macaroonies

Monday we woke up around 9 to go down to our Uncle's club to catch some rays and burn off a few calories at the pool. After getting ready, we made our way down to Orchard to find the shopping centre our cousin Ruth showed us when we came with her to have a better look at the clothes we fell in love with last time.

Unfortunately we mixed up the 'Far East Plaza' for the 'Far East Shopping Centre' which was full of creepy Indian men (no racial) and maid agencies.... almost 2 and a half hours of perspiration, cursing, and ice cream wafer cakes later, we found it and had a brief shop around. Following our trek around Orchard, we met Ruth outside her office, where she then took us to The Dempsey Brasserie, a converted army barrack specialising in yummy French food. After Emelia's pork and apple sauce burger and our scallops, pork and cherry tomato salad and truffle oil and Parmesan fries, Ruth knew the perfect place to take us for dessert...

We went to the CUTEST patisserie called 'Antoinette' hidden in the oddest part of the city and we fell in love. All in white, this place had old style chairs and multi-coloured meringues in jars, as well as giant perfectly piped cakes. Seeing as we had never tried one, we bought macaroons, as well as a strawberry layered cake slice and a chocolate layered cake slice to bring home to Ruth's for Robin (he was jealous).

It was amaze. Food overload.

A xx
